Our story
The game we wished our own kids had
We are a small team of software and marketing people — and, first of all, parents. Math Max is the project we talked about for years before we finally sat down and built it.
How it started
Years in the making
It started at our own kitchen tables. Some of our kids dreaded math worksheets; others raced through them and asked for more. We kept thinking the same thing: practice does not have to feel like a chore, and being quick with numbers can feel like a genuine superpower.
Between us we build software and we know how to tell a story, but the part that matters most is that we are raising kids too. We know what makes a seven-year-old groan — and what makes them beg for one more round. So we turned math practice into a fighting game, where every attack is a mental-math problem, and we kept polishing it until our own children wanted to play it.
Why we built it
Two kinds of kids. One game.
For the kid who dreads it
Some children freeze the moment they see a page of sums. We wanted a place where mistakes cost nothing, progress is visible, and a hard problem feels like a boss to beat instead of a grade to fear. Confidence comes one won fight at a time.
For the kid who loves it
Other children are hungry for a challenge and outrun every worksheet in the room. For them Math Max keeps climbing — from times tables all the way to Olympic-level number theory — so there is always a tougher monster and a faster time to chase.
What we believe
What guides every level we build
Practice should feel like play
If it feels like homework, kids stop. So the math is real, but it is wrapped in a game they actually want to come back to.
Every child has their own pace
The same monsters meet a struggling beginner and a competition kid — each at their own level. Nobody is left behind, and nobody is held back.
Rigor and fun are not opposites
Under the cartoon fights is a real curriculum: eight families of math, from addition upward. The joy is the point — and so is the learning.
Come meet the monsters
It is free to start, and there is nothing to install. See for yourself why we could not stop building it.
